The Primes

The Primes are considered mutants and terrorists. They originated from a small colony on the planet Dogan Prime.

Dogan Prime was in orbit of a very dangerous star but at the time the planet was colonized the star was believed to be a dormant threat, it wasn't. The star gave of dangerous levels of a new form of radiation unknown to mankind. Of the 469 colonists 305 got sick and eventually died. The remaining 164 also got sick but survived. The survivors soon discovered that the star had changed them. They were now able to manipulate the space around them. They fled the planet but no one would give them asylem, not the Empire nor any of the free systems. Only the Sol Consortium eventually gave in and accepted them. Over time the people on earth began to see them as equals. The Primes are angry and bitter, they occasionally attack worlds controlled by the Empire or the Free systems. The primes do not age and heal faster than a normal human being. Nowadays most of the Primes live in hiding. They only refer to their hideout as Argo.

Some see their abilities as a gift and some see it as a curse. Another effect of the exposure is a limited ability to have children. When a female Prime gives birth she will begin to age again, her immortality is gone. The male will still be immortal and will have to witness his wife crumble. A solution that they have come up with is to have children with a woman who is not a prime. The child will have a 50/50 percent chance to inherit either the curse or the gift, depending on your point of view. Not many pure bloods, original Primes or a child with parents who were both Primes, remain.
